Do This Stretch for Bigger, Bolder Shoulders

There’s nothing that defines a well-shaped torso like a pair of broad shoulders.


As a result, guys spend a lot of time working their shoulders with overhead exercises. But if you’re not doing the wall stretch beforehand, you may be sabotaging your gains, says BJ Gaddour, C.S.C.S., Men’s Health Fitness Advisor and co-creator of the Men’s Health Body Battle, a new workout DVD that gives you four 30-minute fitness challenges.


Here’s why: You spend most of the day with your arms at your sides, which tightens your lats and triceps, explains Gaddour. When you go to overhead press, you won’t have the range motion to effectively perform the movement. This not only restricts the amount of weight you can press, but also puts you at risk for injury.
